The site has a comprehensive database of research articles on migration, as well as a new Policy Toolkit...

Our public sector experience was invaluable in helping Spider win this tender and pitch, held under the auspices of COSLA.  The client commented that our “strong visuals, strategic approach and ability to “hit the right notes’ at the pitch” made us the clear winner.

The legacy site was built in Drupal, as was our new site, and the migration of data between the two was thus made easier, however, there were key dates for successive deadlines to coincide with client-scheduled launch events.

To ensure we met these dates, Spider worked to an even tighter specification document than normal, ensuring internal and external comms were open 24x7 for the client to see what was being done and why.  This meant there was far less re-working/fixes required and ensured we met each deadline in good time.

The site has a comprehensive database of research articles on migration, as well as a new Policy Toolkit that provides a range of useful information into every facet of the immigration debate within Scotland.  This database did not previously exist so Spider had to scope, develop and implement it from scratch. In addition, there is an excellent admin system built into the site that the client has commented is much easier to access and manage than the one they had before.

This was a particularly valuable exercise: we believe we can always learn from every project we undertake and Migration Matters was particularly useful in this respect.  Much of the good work carried out here has helped Spider and its clients in developing new elements which add real value to subsequent projects.
